Chronology of Diplomatic Relations
Diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Syrian Arab Republic were established on May 18, 1993.
On May 29, 2018 the Syrian regime made an illegal decision and established the so-called diplomatic relations with Russian occupation regimes in Sokhumi and Tskhinvali in violation of the fundamental norms and principles of international law. In this regard, the Georgian side, based on the Decree of 31 May 2018 by the Government of Georgia, terminated the „Agreement between the Republic of Georgia and Syrian Arab Republic on Diplomatic Relations“ of May 18, 1993.
