Welcome to the official website of the Embassy of Georgia in the Arab Republic of Egypt.  

It is my great honor and privilege to represent my country as the Ambassador of Georgia in historically and culturally abundant country. It is noteworthy that throughout the centuries, we have demonstrated our determination to enhance our interaction. Today, our objective is to strengthen our friendship based on our historical legacy.
Georgia and the Arab Republic of Egypt established diplomatic relations in 1992, and have enjoyed a growing and mutually beneficial cooperation ever since. The establishment of a resident diplomatic mission of Georgia in Cairo in 1998 reflects the increasing significance of this relationship to the Georgian government and its people.
Our countries share and have a lot in common: thousands of years of rich history, affinity to culture and tradition, a strong sense of national dignity, and an enduring will for freedom and democracy that has been tested repeatedly by political turmoils. Our relations are based on the adherence to the norms and principles of international law, respect for human rights, democracy, sovereignty and territorial integrity of our nations.
It has not been long since Georgia set forth on its steady path to successful democratic, administrative and economic reforms. However, in the short period since regaining its independence, Georgia managed to markedly improve its international standing and become an increasingly attractive country for foreign investment. Georgia is now one of the most appealing and advantageous countries for foreign investments in the sectors of energy, agriculture, infrastructure and tourism, among others. 
The main priorities of our service in Egypt mirror the purpose of any diplomatic mission overseas: we will endeavor to promote the national interests of Georgia and to protect the rights of its citizens. However, we regard it as equally important to encourage and further develop the bilateral ties between our countries, particularly in the areas of business, politics and culture.
