On 4 May 2026, Nikoloz Apkhazava, Ambassador of Georgia to the Arab republic of Egypt paid a courtesy call on Sameh Shoukry, the newly appointed Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the House of Representatives of Egypt.

The parties discussed the prospects for enhancing interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries. The importance of exchanging bilateral visits was underlined. The meeting also addressed the establishment of parliamentary friendship groups and measures to strengthen cooperation across various fields.
